Here’s where to get Thanksgiving dinner in and around Victoria this weekend

It’s almost that time again, Victoria!

Fall is officially upon us, and that means everyone’s favourite meal of the year —Thanksgiving dinner—is also here.

For those who want to skip the struggle in the kitchen and the full day of fighting with the oven and the stove (not to mention the dishes!), there are several restaurants, pubs and chefs that will do the cooking for you!

Here’s where you can get Thanksgiving dinner cooked for you in and around Victoria this weekend:

10 Acres

10 Acres is offering Thanksgiving dinner at both of their locations in downtown Victoria—10 Acres Bistro and 10 Acres Commons— as well as The Pier in Sidney.

They’ll be offering takeout and dine-in options, so diners can choose whether they want to enjoy the ambiance of eating out at one of their restaurants or the comfort of home.

At the restaurants, the $56.95 three-course dinner will include winter squash or roast vegetable soup for the first course, with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, root veggies, cranberry sauce and gravy forming the main course.

Diners can choose between pumpkin cheesecake or homemade ice cream for dessert.

The $38.95 takeout turkey plate option will offer turkey, stuffing, root veggies, mashed potatoes, yam puree, cranberry sauce and a side of gravy, with the option to add winter squash soup or pumpkin cheesecake for $12.

Vista 18

Vista 18 on the 18th floor of the Chateau Victoria will be offering Thanksgiving with a view.

The restaurant overlooks the city from the skies, with incredible views of the city skyline or the olympic mountains, depending on where you sit.

Their $36 Thanksgiving dinner includes traditional roast turkey, creamy mashed potatoes, brown butter sage stuffing, rich gravy, spiced cranberry sauce, local winter vegetables and turkey skin crisp.

They’ll be serving Thanksgiving dinner all weekend long from October 10th to 12th.

LURE Restaurant & Bar

Fancy a Thanksgiving breakfast?

LURE Restaurant & Bar will offer a spin on the traditional Thanksgiving dinner, with their roasted turkey roulade benedict!

They’ll also be serving up a $45 Thanksgiving dinner, featuring a roasted turkey roulade with mushroom duxelle and spinach, as well as Yukon mashed potatoes, cider honey glazed brussel sprouts and baby carrots, spiced cranberry jam, stuffing croquette and Madeira sage jus.

The feature dessert is a $15 pumpkin spice tart.

The Arbutus Room

From 5 p.m. to close on October 11th and 12th, The Arbutus Room will host a family-friendly Thanksgiving celebration.

The $85 meal will include a choice of harvest beet and apple salad or sweet potato and roasted butternut squash soup for the first course, followed by a herb-roasted turkey roulade, which includes sage and butter stuffing, garlic and truffle mashed potatoes, roasted root vegetables, cranberry-orange sauce and classic turkey gravy.

The meal will include a pumpkin cheesecake for dessert.

Aegir Room

On Thanksgiving Sunday, the Aegir room will be serving up a feast.

Dinner will include roast turkey breast and thigh, root vegetables, whipped garlic mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, apple-sage stuffing, cranberry sauce and pecan pie with vanilla whip cream for dessert.

They’ll only be serving dinner from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, so make sure to book in advance by calling the restaurant at (250) 410-2085, or by clicking here.

Fathom

Leave the cooking and cleanup to Fathom, where they’ll be serving up a Thanksgiving feast from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on October 11th and 12th.

The starter for the meal is a salad featuring radicchio, arugula, pickled pear, spiced orange vinaigrette and shaved pecorino cheese. The feast’s main dish will include a ballotine of turkey leg and breast, cranberry and thyme pan jus, roasted sweet potato and squash with honey and apple cider glaze and fried brussel sprouts with a dijon and lemon vinaigrette.

Dessert is a pumpkin cheesecake or a rum cake.

Dinner is priced at $89 per adult or $42 per child under 11.

The Oaks

In Oak Bay, The Oaks will be hosting Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday, October 11th and Monday, October 12th.

The dining room will be open from 11 a.m. to close, or guests can pick up a meal to go!

Their Thanksgiving feast will include roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, gravy and cranberry sauce with a pumpkin pie for dessert, with everything made in-house.

The meal is priced at $30 for both take-out or dine-in options.

The restaurant says it’s already getting busy, so be sure to give them a call at (250) 590-3155 to book your table soon!

Dickens Public House

Looking for dinner plans out in Sidney?

Dickens Pub will be offering a $39.95 three-course turkey dinner, complete with turkey, ham, buttery garlic mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, roasted maple glazed root vegetables and savoury red wine turkey gravy.

Dessert will be a spiced pumpkin bread pudding.

The normal menu will also be available at the restaurant.

Reservations can be made by calling the pub at (250) 656-5042, although they say reservations are not required.

Fireside Grill

Fireside Grill will be hosting Thanksgiving dinner from 4 p.m. onward on Saturday, October 10th and Sunday, October 11th.

The meal options include a $10 appetizer of bacon and butternut squash soup, a $36 turkey dinner entree including mashed potatoes, roasted carrots and brussel sprouts, stuffing, homestyle gravy and cranberry coulis, plus a $10 pumpkin tart for dessert.

There is also a seasonal drink available, which is a $14 cranberry cobbler cooler.

James Bay Inn

In James Bay, the historic James Bay Inn will be offering Thanksgiving meals on Saturday and Sunday.

The $34 meal on Saturday includes slow roasted turkey with mashed potatoes, stuffing, seasonal vegetables, cranberry sauce and gravy, with a $5 slice of pumpkin pie available for dessert.

The Sunday meal offers a bit more, with slow roasted turkey with mashed potatoes, stuffing, seasonal vegetables, cranberry sauce and gravy, as well as a side soup or salad and a slice of pumpkin pie for $45.

Chef on the Run

Prefer eating Thanksgiving dinner around the table at home?

Chef on the Run is offering takeaway Thanksgiving dinners for $25 per person, so you can still enjoy the conversation around the dinner table without the crowds.

From October 7th to October 9th, they’ll be offering a turkey dinner which includes savory herbed stuffing, roasted winter vegetables with candy cane beets, balsamic brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, pan-made gravy and, of course, oven roasted turkey with a blend of white and dark meat.

And they deliver!
