Looking for that missing trading card, toy or treasure to add to your collection?
Collectors will be in luck this weekend as the Ultimate Hobby & Toy Fair returns to Pearkes Arena.
On Saturday, September 19th and Sunday, September 20th, the beloved toy fair will return to its home at Pearkes Arena at 3100 Tillicum Road.
The fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, giving collectors of all kinds the opportunity to find their missing piece.
The fair will feature hundreds of vendors trading everything from vintage toys and action figures to Pokémon, trading cards, comics, LEGO, Barbie, dolls, trains, models, video games, Hot Wheels, vinyl records, Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Transformers, and more.
“There is something really special about these events,” said Candice Woodward, an organizer of the fair.
“We love seeing collectors leave happy after finding that special something, and we love watching families share memories together. There is a lot of magic, whimsy, and nostalgia in the room.”
The fair has become a favourite for Victoria residents and visitors alike, offering one of the biggest opportunities for hobby trading on Vancouver Island all year long.
Guests will also be able to enjoy door prizes, food vendors, special displays and artists, along with some surprises throughout the weekend.
And make sure to dress up! Guests who visit in a cosplay outfit will receive an extra entry to the door prize draw.
Hobbyists and visitors will also be able to get their photo taken with Batman, with donations helping to raise money for Victoria hospitals, or bid in a silent auction with funds going towards the BC Children’s Hospital and the MS Society.
The hobby fair is a long-standing tradition in the city, with almost two decades of history.
“We have been putting on this Toy Fair for 18 years, and we are forever grateful for the community, vendors, and volunteers who help make it happen,” said B. Woodward, another organizer of the event.
“Thanks to everyone’s support, we have helped raise almost $80,000 for local charities over the years. It feels really good to give back.”
General admission to the event is $5 for one day or $10 for a weekend wristband, and children get in free with an adult.
On Saturday, early bird tickets will be available for those who want to get into the venue an hour early to make sure they get a head start and find that special piece they’re looking for. Those tickets are $15 and include a weekend wristband.
