The Victoria Butterfly Gardens and Swan Lake are both offering family-friendly activities this Monday, or you can catch a film at the campus theatre, join in a drop-in community choir at The Coda or head to Benji’s famous pub quiz at the Fernwood Inn!

Meet the Keeper: From Tadpole to Frog at The Victoria Butterfly Gardens

Head to the Victoria Butterfly Gardens this Pro-D Day for a special Meet the Keeper: From Tadpole to Frog experience all about the incredible frog lifecycle.

From life in the water as a tadpole to the remarkable transformation into a frog, the animal care lead will introduce guests to the different stages of frog development and share fascinating facts about the frog species that call Victoria Butterfly Gardens home.

You may even have the chance to see tadpoles, metamorphs, froglets and adult frogs up close and compare the incredible changes that happen at each stage.

All Together Now sings The Tragically Hip at The Coda

Head down to The Coda for a super fun night of community singing!

For the first drop-in choir night of the season, attendees will be learning one Hip song in simple, easy-to-learn harmonies.

No experience necessary, no music reading required, everyone is welcome.

Experts will teach the songs in harmony and by the end of the night, magic happens!

The song will be recorded and posted on the All Together Now website.

Great Canadian Bioblitz – iNaturalist Family Challenge at Swan Lake

Stop by Swan Lake Nature Sanctuary and learn how to use iNaturalist and take part in this Bioblitz challenge!

Take part in this event as part of the Greater Victoria’s Great Canadian Bioblitz 2026.

Learn how to iNaturalist with Ruby at our drop-in information station.

Follow step-by-step instructions provided to get set up on your own mobile device and learn how the iNaturalist app and Bioblitzes help contribute to valuable citizen science data sets.

Enjoy a self-guided exploration around Swan Lake as you take observations for the Bioblitz, and enter to win fantastic prizes!

This event is free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Benji’s Pub Quiz

Head down to the Fernwood Inn for Benji’s famous pub quiz!

Enjoy good laughs, good tunes, average pens and brand new Inky Dinky’s!

Tickets are $14 per person and sold online in tables of four, five, six or eight. They can be purchased here.

Groups of eight or more are asked to email the Fernwood Inn ahead of time with their ticket names so everyone can be seated together.
