Saanich Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who has reportedly made repeated inappropriate comments toward women while riding along the Galloping Goose Trail.
According to a social media post by Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers, the man is accused of targeting women when no other men are nearby.
In one reported incident near Grange Road, the cyclist allegedly yelled at a woman as he rode past and made an obscene gesture.
The man is described as Caucasion, approximately 55 to 65 years old and around 6′ tall with a slim build and grey-brown hair.
He reportedly rides a silver bicycle and wears a dark helmet.
The appeal follows a separate and unrelated incident reported in early June near the Hollywood Crescent, Dallas Road, Gonzales Beach and lower Foul Bay area.
In that incident, a local photographer said he witnessed a cyclist shouting homophobic remarks and profanities at two women as he passed them.
The photographer captured images of that individual, but there is currently no indication the incident is connected to the Saanich Police investigation.
