Central Saanich Police revealed that detectives have seized drugs, cash and vehicles in two alleged drug trafficking warrant executions.
Police say that in July 2025, investigators launched a drug trafficking investigation into a suspect operating out of a residential home in Central Saanich.
Over five months, police witnessed numerous drug transactions, which eventually led to the arrest of 60-year-old John Patrick Sampson.
In November 2025, Central Saanich Police and the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant on the residence, seizing drugs cash and weapons.
Investigators found approximately $18,000 in cash, around 25 ounces of cocaine, 19 ounces of psilocybin, drug packaging and processing materials and two pairs of brass knuckles.
Furthermore, police say that officers seized thousands of dollars worth in vehicles and guitars suspected of being proceeds of crime, including a classic Dodge Coupe, a Plymouth Barracuda, a Chevrolet Silverado, a classic powerboat, two Harley Davidson motorcycles, two “chopper style” motorcycles and 43 guitars.
After the first warrant was executed in November 2025, a second investigation was launched in February 2026.
A second search warrant was executed on the same residence in which police seized $10,000 in cash and an additional supply of cocaine.
Sampson now faces recommended charges for possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon.
