More than 42,000 cruise passengers expected in Victoria this week

Victoria’s cruise ship season is showing no signs of slowing down, with 17 vessel calls and tens of thousands of passengers scheduled to visit the city over the next week.

The arrivals come as the capital region heads into a stretch of generally pleasant early June weather, giving thousands of visitors a chance to explore downtown Victoria, the Inner Harbour, Beacon Hill Park and attractions across the region.

According to the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA), more than 42,000 passengers are expected aboard ships scheduled to arrive at Ogden Point between June 1st and June 7th.

The week includes visits from several of the industry’s largest vessels, including the Anthem of the Seas, Star Princess, Norwegian Encore and Norwegian Bliss.

As of May 31st, the city had welcomed 75 cruise ship visits carrying an estimated 203,000 passengers since the season began in April.

The busiest day of the week is expected to be Saturday, when three large vessels carrying more than 10,000 passengers are scheduled to visit Victoria.

The largest ship of the week will be the Anthem of the Seas, which can carry nearly 5,000 passengers and arrives on Sunday evening.

Cruise ship visits are expected to continue at a steady pace throughout June as Victoria enters one of the busiest stretches of the 2026 season.
