After several rainy days this week, the May long weekend is shaping up to deliver some sunshine and clear skies, though some periods of cloud and wind are expected.

Rain is expected to continue on Friday, with a high of 12°C. Overnight there will be a low of 8°C with a 60% chance of showers.

Things should start to clear up on Saturday, with a high of 15°C and a mix of sun and clouds.

The wind is expected to be strong on Saturday, with westerly winds starting at 20 kilometres per hour in the morning and rising to 40 kilometres per hour by noon, then gusting to 70 kilometres per hour in the Juan de Fuca strait in the afternoon.

The overnight low is still looking fairly cool, at 7°C.

Sunday looks to be the warmest and sunniest day of the weekend, with a high of 17°C and sunny skies. It is expected to stay windy, and will stay cool at night with an overnight low of 9°C.

On Monday, Environment Canada expects a mix of sun and clouds again, but it should stay relatively warm with a high of 17°C before dipping to a low of 9°C overnight.
