We’re back at it this Tuesday with some great events happening around the city.

If you want to laugh out loud at some stand-up comedy or catch a film that will make you think, you’re in the right place. We’ve compiled a list of some of the things going on in the city for you!

Here are 5 things going on in and around Victoria this Tuesday, May 19th:

Vancouver Island Film Blue Heron at CineCenta

Filmed on Vancouver Island, Blue Heron is a film that comes from writer and director Sophy Romvari.

The film is also set on Vancouver Island, and features a family of six settling into their new home as internal dynamics are revealed through the eyes of the youngest child.

Blue Heron is a reflection on Romvari’s past, and she weaves her own life experiences into the story.

Tickets are $14.29 plus fees and can be purchased here.

Comedy Night double header at the Mint

Get Ready for a Night of Non-Stop Laughter!

Join the Mint for an unforgettable evening of stand-up comedy featuring two of Canada’s top headline comedians—Sunee Dhaliwal and Sterling Scott!

These powerhouse performers have graced international stages and starred on major networks, and now they’re bringing their razor-sharp wit and electrifying energy to you.

Sterling Scott – A fan favorite and a Golden Buzzer recipient on Canada’s Got Talent, Sterling is one of the most dynamic comedians in the country. With appearances on Just for Laughs, CBC and The Comedy Network, his high-energy storytelling and quick-hitting punchlines will leave you in stitches.

Sunee Dhaliwal – One of the most in-demand comedians today, Sunee has performed at Just for Laughs, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and opened for comedy legends like Russell Peters and Charlie Murphy. Sunee also has his own Comedy Now! special and has made numerous appearances on The Comedy Network, CBC and more.

Head down to Gage Gallery for a screening of The Thinking Garden.

This event will feature a short film and conversation about a South African women’s cooperative farm that sows the seeds of change.

The screening is free, but there is limited seating available and organizers ask that you reserve a spot ahead to time. Reserve your spot here.

SixtyWatt Trivia at Heckler’s Bar and Grill

Head down to Heckler’s for their weekly pub trivia in partnership with SixtyWatt Trivia!

These events are always a riot. SixtyWatt is a Victoria-based trivia company that is known as the “Mr. Fix it” of quiet pub nights.

They specialize in sarcasm, banter and some pretty great one liners that you may in fact want to write home about.

With four fun rounds, each team has a chance to rake in the prizes.

Trivia is free to play, but SixtyWatt does ask that you support the venue and purchase some food or beverages.

Miguelito Valdés and Band at the Bard and Banker

Don’t miss Latin night with trumpet maestro Miguelito Valdés and his band at the Bard and Banker!
