Cheers to another Friday, Victoria!

We’re all looking forward to a sunny weekend in this beautiful city, so let’s start it off strong with some events!

Get yourself down to a brand new peony festival at the Atrium, Cabaret at Alix Goolden Performance Hall or maybe head to dancer’s paradise at the Downbeat and get on that dance floor! Whatever you’re into, there’s something going on to get you out and about!

Here are 5 things to do in and around Victoria this Friday, May 29th:

Diva Cabaret 2026 at Alix Goolden Performance Hall

Forget stuffy events and ho-hum galas.

The Diva Cabaret will put local business leaders and change-makers in drag for the first time.

These future kings and queens will each be matched with a local drag artist, who will mentor them all the way to the stage and their big debut number in a fabulous cabaret!

This fundraiser is in support of Intrepid’s year-round programming—help support artists, run residencies and bring more incredible theatre and performance to our shared community.

There will also be a 50/50 Raffle, drag bags and fabulous refreshments.

Benji Duke’s Quiz This at the Belfry Theatre

The famous Benji Duke is back with another event!

This special fundraising event is dedicated to supporting Victoria Literacy Connection and helping to make sure literacy support is available for children and families in the Southern Vancouver Island Region.

Four teams go head-to-head in a battle of wits over a series of fun and exciting rounds!

It will be silly, loud and highly entertaining!

Audience members will have the chance to participate in bonus rounds and win some fabulous prizes.

Peony Festival at the Atrium

Head down to the Atrium and experience the magic of 7,000 plus peonies in the heart of the Garden City.

Wander the blooms, snap a photo and share the beauty with friends.

Discover pockets of joy around every corner and breathe in that sweet, unmistakable scent of summer.

The festival will be happening from Thursday to Saturday, and it’s free to attend on both Friday and Saturday!

Prezzer B2B Lex, Ænniæ and Primitive DJ show at the Downbeat

Head down to the Downbeat, Victoria’s premier dance venue for a DJ jam featuring the founders of the famous Midnight Project!

Prezzy and Lex, who will be playing b2b, then Ænniæ to close, Primitive on an extended opener.

90’s Night at Studio 919

Get ready for a night of your fave 90s and 2000s rock and dance hits with The Big Shiny Dudes.

Join Studio 919 for a night of nostalgic 90s and 2000s hits, playing all your favourite throwback rock and pop hits!

Get ready to party like it’s 1999…or 2006.
