Local developers hosting ‘News Café’ pop-up as part of Design Victoria festival

Aryze Developments is hosting a pop-up café as part of the Design Victoria festival, meant to celebrate all things design and community.

The ‘Aryze News Café’ pop-up will be taking over Print Hole, a local print shop located at 712 Cormorant Street from May 1st to 3rd.

There, the café will reimagine the concept of a traditional newsstand as a contemporary third space—a social setting separate from home and work—with a curated selection of independent magazines and books focused on design and architecture.

And there will be coffee and treats!

Routine Coffee & Supply and Working Culture Bread will be onsite selling fresh caffeinated beverages and pastries for those in attendance, plus, Bolen Books will be there with additional reading materials.

“We wanted to create a community-forward experience that showcases our appreciation for good design and the small businesses that make Victoria so special,” says Melanie Ransome, director of communications at Aryze.

“The News Café is a chance for people to gather in a fun setting and celebrate our local design scene.”

In addition to the selection of reading materials, coffee and snacks, the space will also feature custom prints by local and regional artists, limited-edition shirts created in collaboration with Print Hole and a heritage sound system from Burrow, who will be playing a rotating selection of music specifically composed for architectural spaces.

Aryze says there will be ample seating, sunny windows and high-speed Wi-Fi for those who feel inspired to work on a project of their own.

This pop-up is just one of the many featured events of Design Victoria, a multi-day festival that celebrates Victoria’s vibrant design community.
