Victoria’s plant-based food scene is taking another hit.

Odd Burger has announced it will be closing its Victoria location at the end of the month, after more than a year since first opening their doors in the summer of 2024.

In a post shared to social media, the restaurant said its last day of service will be February 28th, with the business officially closing on March 1st.

“After a lot of thought and reflection, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our restaurant,” the statement reads.

“This was not an easy decision. We’ve poured our hearts into this space, and we are incredibly grateful for the support from our customers, staff, and community over the past year and a half.”

The restaurant thanked its team for their hard work and dedication and expressed appreciation to customers who visited, ordered, and supported the business.

“If you have a chance, we’d love to see you one more time before we close.”

Odd Burger, known for its fully vegan fast-food style menu including burgers, fries and milkshakes, opened in Victoria as part of the Ontario-based chain’s continued expansion across Canada.

The closure comes amid a challenging stretch for some plant-based eateries in the city.

Over the past couple of years, Victoria has seen several vegan-focused restaurants shut their doors, raising questions about the sustainability of niche dining concepts in an increasingly competitive and cost-sensitive market.

In July 2025, MeeT on Blanshard shut down after nearly three years in business, and in October, vegan pizzeria Virtuous Pie closed after about six years serving the Victoria community.
