Now that 2025 has fully come to a close, Habitat for Humanity Victoria has announced the winners of their 17th Annual Gingerbread Showcase.
According to the organization, this year saw the largest turnout yet, with over 21,000 visitors coming out to view the elaborate gingerbread designs.
Thanks to those who donated to Habitat for Humanity, the charity event raised $117,359, which will be used to help Victorians in need access affordable housing in the capital region.
The funds raised beat out 2024’s record by over $13,500.
This year’s theme was “Homes for All,” and was brought to life through the inventive and creative efforts of the bakers involved.
The People’s Choice award for 2026 was awarded to Geoff Cram from Old Town Bakery in Ladysmith. His gingerbread creation, dubbed ‘An Oak River Christmas,’ won with over 4,700 votes.
Furthermore, the showcase judges named the following category winners:
- Best First Impression: ‘An Oak River Christmas’ by Geoff Cram (Old Town Bakery)
- Best Use of Skill and Technique: ‘The Heart of Home’ by Selena Oliveira
- Best Interpretation of the Theme: ‘Every Piece Belongs’ by Nicole Schaaf (Whisk & Willow)
- Most Creative and Original: ‘There & Back Again’ by Jessica Hoehne
- Most Diverse Use of Ingredients: ‘Home Among the Garry Oaks’ by Sheena & Mel (September’s Hearth)




“Habitat Victoria extends heartfelt thanks to all participants, sponsors, donors and volunteers who helped make this year’s Showcase a remarkable success,” said Habitat for Humanity Victoria in a media release.
The Gingerbread Showcase is one of the organization’s biggest fundraising events of the year, but not the only one.
