It’s the weekend, Victoria—time to celebrate!

This weekend is stacked with high-energy spectacles, laugh-out-loud comedy, drag performances, live music, immersive theatre, and family-friendly fun—proving there’s no shortage of ways to get out and make the most of the season.

From monster trucks tearing up the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre to intimate concerts, comedy tours, and creative community events across the city, the lineup offers plenty of reasons to bundle up and head out. 

Here are 11 things to do in and around Victoria this weekend—January 17th and 18th:

Motorsports Spectacular 

They’re big, they’re loud, and they’re set to rip it up this January at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre! 

This upcoming weekend, January 17th and 18th, Motorsports Spectacular will descend upon Victoria in epic fashion—featuring car crushing monster truck racing, wheelie contests and freestyle.

Add high-flying freestyle motocross action and mini monsters to the mix, and you’ve got an electric evening you won’t want to miss.

Saturday Dinner and Drag

Join Friends of Dorothy for an amazing evening of Dinner and Drag! 

With performances from a phenomenal cast of performers, amazingly curated cocktails, and delicious food, this is a Saturday you won’t want to miss! 

It gets busy, so reservations are strongly encouraged.

The Bad Apples Comedy Show

Head to the Fernwood Inn on Saturday January 17th for a comedy show like no other! 

These Indigenous Comedians have carved their names into the stand-up comedy scene, bringing laughter to audiences across the globe. 

Watch Nelson Mayer, a Métis comedian who was a finalist in the esteemed World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas and Drea Omer, a fast-racing Indigenous comedian who has performed across Canada and L.A., toured with SKoden, Stoodis, Standup! and No Reservations! in this hilarious Saturday night show.

Their performances have graced renowned platforms like Disney+, HBO, Prime Video, Crave TV, APTN, CBC, Sirius XM, iTunes, and TUBI.

Father Mother Sister Brother at The Vic Theatre

Jim Jarmusch’s Father Mother Sister Brother bursts with passion, humour, and heartache in three interwoven family stories. 

The movie was the Golden Lion winner at the Venice Film Festival, and features a star-packed cast with Adam Driver, Cate Blanchett, Tom Waits, and Mayim Bialik.

Snowed In Comedy Tour

The Snowed In Comedy Tour is back—bigger, bolder, and funnier than ever! 

What started 17 years ago as a wild idea in the middle of a Canadian winter has snowballed into a full-blown national phenomenon, and now, the biggest comedy tour in Canada.

Featuring Dan Quinn, the tour founder and Just for Laughs winner, Paul Myrehaug, Great Canadian Laugh Off champion, Pete Zedlacher, six-time Canadian Comedian of the Year nominee, and Erica Sigurdson, beloved Debaters regular with over 70 appearances, you won’t want to miss this hilarious show!

Winter Pride 2026

This inclusive winter soirée brings together music, performance and fashion for a high-energy night out.

Expect DJ sets from Nova Jade, dazzling drag and burlesque performances hosted by Eddi Licious, and a welcoming atmosphere for all identities.

Fancy and festive attire is encouraged, with a fashion parade open to all at 10 p.m.

Don’t miss the first Family Sunday of 2026 at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (AGGV) and discover how everyday objects tell stories about their origins, makers, and cultural meanings. 

Take part in art activities inspired by one of their current exhibitions, ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ੇ ‘ਚ ਤਰੇੜ | sheeshe ‘ch thareṛ | a crack in the mirror, stitch on an embroidery wall, add hand-coloured patches to a canvas bag, and paint marigolds. 

The dance academy Apna Virsa Victoria will also provide an additional layer of learning and connection to this exhibit as they bring their educational, interactive performance to the AGGV. 

Family Sunday is included with admission, but free for visitors 25-years-old and under, AGGV members, See Art Pass holders, all Indigenous people, and support Workers accompanying visitors who need assistance.

Stardew Valley at the Royal Theatre

Stardew Valley: Festival of Seasons is an intimate, immersive concert featuring fresh arrangements of the most cherished songs from the Stardew Valley soundtrack, performed live by 11 musicians of the FILMharmonique Orchestra under the baton of Francis Choinière.

Improv Cabaret(s)

Paper Street Theatre presents an eclectic evening of improvised theatre featuring students from their Masters Program.

Zombie Blizzard at the McPherson Playhouse

Pacific Opera Victoria weaves together opera, jazz, and Margaret Atwood’s poetry, in Zombie Blizzard, a one-night-only, genre-defying performance on January 18th. 

This part-concert, part-poetic experience is the second show in Pacific Opera Victoria’s Luminary Series, featuring soprano Measha Brueggergosman-Lee and composer Aaron Davis performing alongside the words of author Margaret Atwood.
