Shawnigan Lake RCMP are appealing for dashcam footage after a woman was struck and seriously injured along the Trans-Canada Highway late last month.

The incident happened on November 21st at around 11 p.m. in the 4100-block of the highway, just north of Cowichan Bay Road.

Police and emergency crews responded to reports that a female pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. RCMP say criminality is not suspected, but the pedestrian sustained significant injuries.

Investigators are now looking to speak with anyone who was travelling through the area around 11 p.m. that night. They are particularly interested in dashcam footage that may show the collision or the events leading up to it.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Shawnigan Lake RCMP detachment at (250) 743-5514.
