Travellers will soon have another option for quick trips between Victoria’s and Vancouver’s inner harbour.
In a media release last week, Seair Seaplanes revealed a new scheduled seaplane service that will begin on October 20th. This service will provide daily flights between downtown Vancouver and Victoria’s harbourfront.
Flights will leave from a new terminal at 1234 Wharf Street in Victoria. will make short trips across the Strait.
According to the company, the nine-passenger Cessna Caravan aircrafts they are using is designed for reliability, comfort, and coastal conditions, making them a staple of seaplane travel along BC’s coast.
This expansion marks the first time this operator has set up a permanent base in Victoria but have served other coastal communities for over four decades.
“Expanding into Victoria’s Inner Harbour is a testament to Seair’s commitment to regional expansion and improving coastal accessibility,” said Jared Williams, President & CEO of Seair Seaplanes.
“We are thrilled to introduce this Vancouver–Victoria air service, connecting more travelers to our coastal communities with the convenient, scenic travel experience Seair is known for.”
Along with scheduled flights, the service will provide private charters, prepaid ticket packs, and a baggage allowance of 25 pounds. To celebrate the launch, promotional fares and limited ticket packages will be offered.
