Lights, camera… action in Sidney!

If you’ve noticed an influx of activity in the sleepy little town of Sidney as of late, it’s for good reason.

From September 9th to September 13th, the all-new Netflix production “Easton Prep” will be filming in the sweet seaside oasis, temporarily changing the landscape and creating quite the buzz around town!

Below is a synopsis of Easton Prep, provided by the Town of Sidney:

“Easton Prep follows a teen girl who, after her father’s financial downfall, relocates with her mother to a small town. There, she unexpectedly becomes the only female rower on her prep school team, navigating the challenges of belonging, resilience, and ambition.

The series is helmed by show runner Vivian Lin (Sights Unseen) and directed by Simon Barry (Warrior Nun) and Jackie Gould. Produced by Dominion of Drama and Great Pacific Media, the show is expected to premiere on Netflix in late 2026 or early 2027.”

Residents of Sidney can expect to see car crash scenes complete with fire and propane special effects, bicycle “accidents”, and perhaps the biggest change of all—on September 12th, all Canadian flags will be temporarily replaced with American flags.

As mentioned, all of the above will just be a temporary adjustment during filming, so don’t fret!

Here’s a breakdown of what’s happening in Sidney during the filming of “Easton Prep”:

September 9th, 10th & 11th
