A secret drug lab in Jordan River has been shut down after a joint investigation led to the seizure of methamphetamine, MDMA, and a loaded handgun.

On September 17th, officers with the RCMP Federal Policing Pacific Region Integrated Border Enforcement Team carried out a search warrant at a property in the 3800-block of Trailhead Drive.

The operation involved the Island District Emergency Response Team, VicPD Strike Force Unit, Sooke RCMP, and the Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response team.

Investigators report that the lab was dismantled on site, and the seized items are now part of an ongoing investigation.

“By dismantling this lab and seizing these items, we’ve not only removed dangerous substances from our community but also struck a blow against the organized crime groups that profit from them,” said Inspector Peter Koster of RCMP Federal Policing.

The investigation is continuing, and no further details have been released.
