This week is starting out hot, but rain is on the way.
After a sweltering weekend, the week is starting out with another hot day, but as the week progresses, things will cool down a bit.
On Monday, August 11th, the high officially reached 32°C, even though the Environment Canada forecast was only calling for a high of 27°C.
However, closer to the water, the temperature in Victoria is slightly lower, as a breeze of 20 to 30 km/h offers a slight reprieve from the heat. Following the hot day, the overnight low is expected to be around 15°C.
Tuesday will be similarly hot, with Environment Canada calling for another high of 27°C, with a slight breeze. The overnight low is expected to be around 13°C.
On Wednesday, temperatures will be cooling down significantly with a predicted high of 22°C, though the day is still expected to be sunny.
Then, on Thursday, some cloud coverage is expected to roll into town, with Environment Canada calling for a high of just 20°C. Overnight, conditions will become increasingly cloudy, and the predicted low will be around 13°C.
Friday is the first day this week with rain in the forecast, with Environment Canada predicting periods of precipitation throughout the day and evening. The high is predicted to be around 17°C.
Rain is expected to continue on-and-off throughout Saturday, with a 30% chance of showers and a high of 21°C.
As of this publication, Sunday does not have any rain in the forecast, but Environment Canada predicts there will still be some cloud coverage. The high is expected to be around 22°C.
Though the rain this weekend may interrupt some people’s plans, it will no doubt help out with dry conditions leading to wildfires on Vancouver Island.
