A 44-year-old Vancouver Island man from Errington has died following a collision on Highway 3 east of Hope on Monday morning.
BC Highway Patrol says the crash happened just after 10 a.m. on August 11 between Sunshine Valley and the western entrance to Manning Park.
It involved a red Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a white Toyota minivan.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, and the highway was shut down for several hours while investigators examined the area and cleared debris.
Police say speed is being investigated as a possible factor in the collision. No arrests have been made.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage of either vehicle is asked to call BC Highway Patrol – Chilliwack at 604-702-4039 and quote file (1501) 2025-33691.
This fatality comes less than a month after a separate crash on the mainland left a 37-year-old Port Alberni motorcyclist with life-altering injuries. That collision happened July 12 on Highway 17 in Delta and involved a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a green Toyota SUV.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
