Heads up to those commuting via the Galloping Goose Trail in Saanich.
Just before noon on Thursday, August 14th, Saanich Police issued a media release stating their major crime unit is investigating after a deceased individual was found just off the Galloping Goose Trail between Burnside Road West and the Trans-Canada Highway near Cuthbert Holmes Park.
“A portion of the Galloping Goose Trail has been closed to allow for detectives to investigate. We ask that people please avoid the area,” said Saanich Police.
Police have closed off a section of the trail while investigators gather evidence and are asking the public to avoid the area.
No further details have been released at this time.
UPDATE: In an update to media, Saanich Police say that while the investigation is still in its early stages, the death does not appear to be suspicious and there is no risk to the public.
