The City of Langford officially broke ground to welcome a major addition to its growing downtown core: a six-storey, 103-room hotel.

Located at 830 Goldstream Avenue, the TownePlace Suites by Marriott will expand the city’s accommodation options for both short and long-term visitors.

The hotel will feature fully equipped kitchenettes, and guests can expect amenities such as a breakfast bar, pool and fitness centre.

“The TownePlace Suites by Marriott will become a key landmark in downtown Langford,” said Scott Goodmanson, Mayor of Langford.

“This project aligns with Council’s vision for a thriving and vibrant downtown, while boosting the local economy, and providing more accommodation options for large events and groups.”

According to a media release, the hotel’s opening will greatly benefit the future students of their new John Horgan Campus, which is set to open in September 2025.

The campus is a collaboration between Royal Roads University, the University of Victoria, Camosun College, among others. The hotel is expected to become a popular choice among students as well as visiting families, sports teams, and more.

“It’s exciting to see the development of a new Townplace Suites by Marriott in Langford, which is a great signal of the continued growth of the visitor economy across southern Vancouver Island,” said Brian Cant, president, 4TVI (Tourism Vancouver Island).

“The investment into sports facilities, enhanced access to parks and trails, and other resident-centred amenities increase the draw for visitors to choose Langford.”

Construction on the hotel is slated to be complete by mid-2027.
