VicPD have released images believed to be connected to a stabbing that left a woman with life-threatening injuries last week, as investigators continue to seek public assistance in identifying the suspect.
The assault took place on the evening of Wednesday, July 9th.
Just after 8 p.m., police responded to a report of an injured person near the intersection of Douglas Street and Pandora Avenue. There, they located a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Police say officers and BCEHS paramedics provided emergency medical care at the scene before the victim was rushed to hospital and is still recovering from serious, life-altering injuries.
According to investigators, the incident began around 7:53 p.m. in the 2100-block of Douglas Street. It’s believed two women were involved in an altercation, with one chasing the other from Princess Avenue onto Douglas Street. The pursuit briefly disrupted traffic and continued toward Pembroke Street.

Photos released by VicPD include surveillance footage from a nearby business and dashcam stills showing two individuals crossing Douglas Street as vehicles stop. Police believe these individuals are the victim and the suspect and hope the images may help jog the memory of anyone who witnessed the altercation.
VicPD are asking anyone with dash cam, CCTV, or other video from the area around that time—or any information that could assist the investigation—to contact the E-Comm non-emergency line at 250-995-7654 ext. 1, referencing file number 25-25953.
This incident marked the second stabbing reported in downtown Victoria that day.
Earlier that morning, just before 9 a.m., a 33-year-old woman was stabbed in the chest near the McDonald’s parking lot in the 900-block of Pandora Avenue. Officers on patrol were flagged down and administered emergency aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
VicPD Chief Del Manak later credited the officers for helping save her life.
Police say the individuals involved in the morning incident were known to each other. While no arrests have been made in either case, investigators do not currently believe the two stabbings are connected.
