After months of maintenance, the splash pad at Saanich’s Rutledge Park is back open!
The District of Saanich says that the issue stemmed from the water from the splash pad entering the storm drain, which could have had negative impacts on aquatic life downstream.
However, District staff were able to solve this problem through designing, constructing and installing a new water system at the splash pad.
Now that work is complete, the park’s water feature is open and ready to enjoy.
“The taps have been turned on and the splash pad is now operational,” said the District of Saanich in a media release.
“The District thanks Saanich residents and visitors for their patience as these changes to the water discharge system were made.”
Now that the work to open the park is complete, both the Rutledge Park and Beckwith Park splash pads will be open this summer from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through until mid-October.
