Oak Bay Police dealt with two unrelated but serious incidents in late June, including a brazen early morning break-and-enter and a hit-and-run in a construction zone.
In the early hours of Monday, June 24th, police were called to a home in the 3500-block of Henderson Road after residents were startled awake around 4 a.m. by the sound of an intruder inside their kitchen.
Police arrived to find the female suspect still inside the residence and was arrested without incident. She was allegedly found with stolen items from the home.
The suspect has been identified as Qiana Hodgins who has been charged with break and enter.
Just one day prior, on Sunday, June 23rd, police responded to a separate incident involving a hit-and-run on a traffic flagger.
At approximately 1:38 p.m., Oak Bay Police were called to the 1500-block of Foul Bay Road where a flagger working in a construction zone reported being struck by a vehicle that ignored their traffic direction.
The worker sustained minor injuries, and the suspect vehicle was described as a white two-door hatchback. Oak Bay Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage to come forward with information.
