A missing mother and daughter from Cochrane, Alberta have been located safely in a Vancouver Island community.

On Monday, July 21st, Cochrane RCMP issued a media release throughout BC and Alberta regarding the two missing persons, 30-year-old Ashley Bartley and her 4-year-old daughter Marlie Myers.

The release was extended to some BC regions because it was believed the mother and daughter may be in the Vancouver area and there was some concern for their wellbeing.

Because this missing persons’ release was extended to Vancouver Island, Bartley and Myers were recognized using an ATM in Courtenay on Vancouver Island.

The mother and daughter were seen travelling with a man who was driving a truck and pulling a trailer with BC plates.

Shortly after they were spotted in Courtenay, Cochrane RCMP provided an update with the new information.

Then, in the early morning hours of Thursday, July 24th, Bartley and Myers were successfully located by police.

Cochrane RCMP shared that the two had been found, but have not revealed who the man they were travelling with was, or if they were travelling under duress.

No additional details have been provided.
