A 30-year-old Langford man has been arrested following a series of criminal harassment and indecent communications investigations that span several years and involve at least four victims.
On Tuesday, June 4th, Sooke RCMP, assisted by the Island District RCMP Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on Humpback Road in Langford.
During the operation, Cole Petrie was taken into custody without incident.
Police launched the investigation after receiving a report of ongoing harassment and inappropriate messages sent via phone and social media over several years.
As investigators looked into the case, they identified three additional female victims, all of whom had similar experiences with the same individual.
“A warrant for the arrest of the suspect was obtained following the investigation,” said Corporal Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the BC RCMP. “Investigators are seeking any other potential victims who may have been targeted by this individual.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Sooke RCMP detachment at 250-642-5241.
