5 things to do in and around Victoria this Tuesday, September 1st

It’s September already!

Summer seems like a blur—there have been hundreds of concerts, festivals, markets, shows and more in Victoria this season, and the events continue this week.

Fringe Festival is the main attraction, bringing some world-class theatre to Victoria for the rest of the week. If Fringe Festival isn’t your thing, there’s still plenty to do.

Check out these 5 things to do in and around Victoria this Tuesday, September 1st:

Honky Tonk Dance with Petunia & the Victoria Honky Tonk Band

A community of country-lovin’ folks hosting honky-tonk dances!

These events feature live live music, featured bands and special guests. Learn two-step, line dance, western swing and more!

The Honky Tonk Dances are intended to uplift BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ voices in country music.

Petunia and Elise LeBlanc take turns leading the Victoria Honky Tonk Band, featuring local all-star players on pedal steel, upright bass, electric guitar and fiddle.

The dance will feature lively old-school country and western swing tunes ranging from lively originals to classic legends like Hank Williams, Bob Wills, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and more.

Big hats and bolo ties are encouraged!

Soul Source at the Coda

Great music for a great cause!

Soul Source is an R&B band with 20 musicians including four part vocals, horns, guitars, keys, bass and drums.

The dance floor is open, and it’s for a great cause—all proceeds go to Living Edge helping with food security in Victoria.

Featuring music by The Beatles, ABBA, Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, James Brown, Jamiroquai, Cat Empire and more!

Sheila! The Musical for Fringe Festival at White Eagle Polish Hall

Sheila! The Musical is a darkly comic musical satire following Sheila V Toff, a bearded housewife in 1950s suburbia, performing the rituals of domestic life for her neighbours, her husband and a watchful baby.

Recently nominated for Most Outstanding English Production at the Montreal Fringe, the show has established itself as a standout on the festival circuit, touring Fringe festivals across Canada since 2024 and now entering its first Fringe run on Vancouver Island, home of the creators.

Sheila spends her days selling domesticity to herself—chores, cocktails, and a smile that’s a little too rehearsed.

The show blends original music, choreography and drag performance with dark comedy—and the longer Sheila keeps performing ‘perfect,’ the more the seams start to show.

Randy & Elizabeth: A Savage Love Story—the Macho MANitoban for Fringe Festival at Wood Hall

This one-man tribute to Randy “Macho Man” Savage covers his thrilling career and tumultuous marriage to manager Miss Elizabeth.

It also weaves in the story of a boy fascinated by professional wrestling and the dangers of meeting your heroes.

Winnipeg local legend Geoff Hughes debuted the “Macho MANitoban” at the 2025 Winnipeg Fringe Festival and garnered sold-out performances and standing ovations.

Luna Land at Ship Point

The City hosts evening concerts at Ship Point that run Tuesdays to Thursdays from June to Labour Day.

Featuring talented local performers these concerts bring vibrant, live music to the community.

This Thursday’s evening concert brings Luna Land to the stage, who will be performing some dream power pop.

These events are free and everyone is welcome to attend.
