VicPD released a statement Thursday marking the 20th anniversary since the disappearance of Esquimalt woman, Belinda Cameron.

Cameron, a mother of two young girls, was last seen on May 11th, 2005, at the Shoppers Drug Mart, located in the 800-block of Esquimalt Road.

It wasn’t until June 4th, 2005 that she was reported missing.

Police reportedly conducted an extensive investigation, which included over 100 interviews and searches involving both canine and helicopter units.

According to police, her disappearance remains suspicious.

Belinda’s daughters, who are now adults, are seeking answers about their mother’s disappearance.

“Detectives remain committed to bringing closure to the family and believe someone knows what happened to Belinda,” the release reads.

When Cameron went missing, she was a 42-year-old Indigenous woman, standing at 5’8” tall, weighing 170 pounds, with a medium build, dark brown hair that she parted in the middle, and dark brown eyes. She also wore silver-framed glasses.
