Langford residents will soon have a new way to get around that’s both flexible and environmentally friendly.
This June, BCAA’s Evolve e-bike and e-scooter share program will officially launch in the city, adding to the growing list of electric transportation options across Greater Victoria.
The service will begin with 75 e-bikes and e-scooters available at 30 locations throughout Langford. Riders can sign up and use the Evolve app on their smartphone to find, unlock, and ride.
“As Langford continues to grow, so does the need for more innovative and flexible ways to commute,” said Mayor Scott Goodmanson. “Welcoming Evolve reflects our commitment to sustainable growth and improved transportation while making everyday travel more accessible for residents.”
To support safety and responsible use, the city and Evolve are introducing slow zones and no-ride areas within the system.
“We’re proud to bring our reliable and affordable options to Langford and build on the success we’ve seen in other Island communities,” said Leanne Buhler, Head of Evolve.
Langford’s new program comes as electric mobility options continue to grow across the region. In Victoria, electric rental golf carts have recently launched, offering a laid-back, scenic way for both locals and visitors to explore the city.
Later this summer, BCAA’s Evo Car Share will also launch in Langford, joining Modo as another car-sharing option in the city. Evo’s Langford Home Zone will connect with the Victoria-area network, which currently includes 175 vehicles.
