A serious crash at a busy Duncan intersection caused a temporary closure of the Trans-Canada Highway Wednesday night.
In a media release, North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP said they were called to the scene of a head-on collision involving a blue Dodge motorhome and a blue Jeep Wrangler at the intersection of the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 18 (Cowichan Valley Highway), just after 9 p.m. on May 28th.
According to early witness reports, the Jeep was heading south on the Trans-Canada Highway when it collided with the northbound motorhome, which was making a left turn onto Highway 18.
All three individuals involved—the driver of the Jeep and the driver and passenger of the motorhome—were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A traffic analyst was brought in to investigate, and the highway was temporarily shut down while officers collected evidence. Police say criminality is not suspected in the incident.
