Saanich Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man 30-year-old man who was last seen on a video call nearly a month ago.
Carlos Andromeda was last seen on the afternoon of March 7th during a Facebook video call. He is described as 5’8” tall, weighing 160 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
Police say Andromeda meets the criteria for a high-risk missing person, meaning there is concern for his immediate health and well-being.
“We have concern for Carlos as he fits the criteria for a high-risk missing person,” said Inspector Damian Kowalewich of the Saanich Police Department. “Our detectives are working with his family and other agencies to locate him but encourage any information from the public.”
Although Andromeda was initially believed to be in Thailand, investigators later determined he was in Hong Kong on March 11th or 12th, before all contact was lost.
The Saanich Police Major Crime Unit is actively investigating and has taken the lead in the case. Police say they are working with international agencies in their search efforts.
Under BC’s provincial policing standards, a high-risk missing person is defined as someone whose health or safety may be in immediate danger due to factors such as age, illness, mental health, addictions, or potential exposure to harm.
Anyone who may have had contact with Carlos—either in person or online—or who may know of his whereabouts is urged to contact Saanich Police at 250-475-4321.
