If you were driving down Quadra Street in Saanich last week, you may have witnessed a moment that left more than a few people scratching their heads.
A video posted to Facebook on April 16th just after 12:30 p.m. shows a shirtless man under the sunny sky, backing up on the sidewalk while either shouting or talking—it’s hard to tell exactly what he’s saying.
At one point, he stumbles mid-step, but quickly gets back up.
The clip, which was shared publicly, includes this caption from the person who filmed it:
“Something a little strange on Quadra Street. A shirtless guy running backwards… Pretty sure he was shouting words. He was wielding a rock I could see in his hand. When I drove past, I watched it in my rearview… He started running out into Quadra St.”
It’s unclear what exactly led up to the moment or what happened afterwards, but the video has caught the attention of local residents who are hoping the man and person we may or may not have been talking to is alright and that whatever was going on got sorted out safely.
No official reports have been released in connection to the incident.
