Happy Wednesday, Victoria!

Do something fun to conquer any mid-week tiredness, such as an Earth Day celebration, comedy night at The Mint, an outdoor movie and more.

The beloved Gherkins Music Bingo is back too, and all of the proceeds go towards refugee sponsorship!

Here’s 5 things to do in and around Victoria on Wednesday, April 16th:

Comedy Night at The Mint

Dim the lights and set the stage—Morgan Cranny and Drew Farrance have picked another great lineup for this Wednesday’s comedy night!

Always new and always filling up fast, be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here!

Outdoor Movie

This Wednesday is National Canadian Film Day, and to celebrate, the Victoria Downtown Residents Association is hosting a free outdoor movie night!

It will take place under the east side of the Johnson Street Bridge at 8 p.m., and the screenings include Lekwungen: Place to Smoke Herring and the award-winning feature-length documentary film Singing Back the Buffalo.

Free hot beverages will be provided, so bring a mug!

Blooming With Pride

With the coming of spring, some fellow Victoria residents are hosting another Public Service Pride event at Herald Street Brew Works!

This event is open to all levels of public service (and adjacent), and guests and allies are also welcome.

Make sure to reach out to them via social media to confirm your spot, and share with your friends.

There will even be some door prizes!

Esquimalt Earth Day

Township of Esquimalt Parks staff have put together a free Earth Day Celebration!

They’ll be working with local schools and community members to help raise awareness about keeping our local parks and urban forests safe and healthy.

Activities include invasive species removal, planting, trail building, stewardship awareness, nature walks and exhibitors.

  • When: Wednesday, April 16th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Gherkins Music Bingo Night

Back by popular demand, the Gherkins Music Bingo Night will take over Fernwood Inn this Wednesday!

There are some epic prizes to be won, including hand made pottery, spa gift certificates, a gift card to Levantine restaurant and more.

Tickets are just over $33, and proceeds go towards refugee sponsorship. Don’t wait too long, this event is known to sell out fast!
