A Vancouver Island resident is celebrating after winning a massive $1.1 million jackpot earlier this year.
According to a BCLC release, on January 11th, Michael Kramar from Courtenay scored $1,132.698.38 while on PlayNow.com.
He was playing Powerbucks Wheel of Fortune Elegant Emeralds online while sitting at home in his living room.
“My first thought was this must be a mistake because this can’t be real,” said Kramar.
When asked who he told first, he said that his mother was the first to know.
“I told her I thought I had just won a progressive jackpot. She was very excited but also was in disbelief.”
Kramar added that it feels both surreal and fortunate, as it will allow him to take his family out to a nice dinner to celebrate, as well as start planning trips.
He mentioned the romantic, rolling hills of rustic Italy are on his mind.
“I have always wanted to visit Tuscany and hope to do so in the not-too-distant future,” said Kramar.
