A 54-year-old man is facing charges following an early morning altercation at a construction site in Langford earlier this week.

According to West Shore RCMP, officers were called to the 1400-block of Atlas Drive around 6:54 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25th, after receiving a report of an assault with a weapon.

When police arrived, they learned that a dispute had taken place between two adult men working at the site. One of the men allegedly assaulted the other with an edged weapon.

The suspect was arrested at the scene without further incident.

Later that day, he appeared in court and was formally charged with asault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.

He has since been released on a court-ordered release with several conditions and is scheduled to appear in court again on April 3rd.

As the matter is now before the courts, West Shore RCMP said no further details will be released.
