Mountain bikers of Langford are celebrating the opening of a brand new trail at the Gravity Zone and Nature Trails Park.
Officially opened to the public last week, the “Flipside” trail marks the 14th trail to open at the park, which is located at 4100 West Shore Parkway.
Allman Dirtworks constructed this ‘blue flow’ trail meant for intermediate riders, and included numerous jumps, berms and flow sections in their design.
The Flipside trail is accessible via the Wonderland access trail and connects to the southern parking lot along the Steam Donkey access trail.
“This new trail is an exciting addition to our growing community and supports our efforts of positioning Langford as a destination for biking and outdoor recreation in British Columbia,” said Scott Goodmanson, Mayor of Langford.
“In the coming weeks, the City will be seeking community input for the Parks and Trails Master Plan. This feedback will guide future planning decisions to enhance our parks and outdoor spaces.”
The 14 trails at the Langford Gravity Zone and Nature Trails Park feature a variety of biking and hiking paths with varying difficulties and viewpoints that offer breathtaking views of the West Shore.
At the trailhead to all the hiking and biking trails at the Langford Gravity Zone and Nature Trails Park is the Jordie Lunn Bike Park and clubhouse, which opened last spring.
The clubhouse has Langford’s second location of Rhino Coffee House, as well as bike rentals, sales and repair services, which are offered by Broad Street Cycles.
The City of Langford says the Gravity Zone and Nature Trails Park and the Jordie Lunn Bike Park create a community hub for mountain bikers and hikers in the West Shore and beyond.
