A delivery man in Esquimalt had his truck stolen while making a routine delivery last week, prompting a police investigation and an appeal for witnesses.
The incident unfolded just before 10:45 a.m. when a driver, delivering bread, was momentarily away from his truck.
That’s when a man jumped into the unoccupied white, three-ton Isuzu work truck and drove off. The theft occurred in the 800-block of Esquimalt Road.
VicPD were able to locate the stolen truck just after 11 a.m. in the 3300-block of Whittier Road in Saanich.
However, reports soon surfaced that the suspect had been driving the vehicle erratically in the Gorge area.
The truck involved in the theft is described as a white, three-ton Isuzu work truck, and police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the theft or captured the event on video to come forward.
This includes dashcam or CCTV footage from the vicinity around the time of the incident.
