A barricade situation in Langford early Tuesday morning ended peacefully after police negotiated the safe surrender of a suspect.
On March 11th, West Shore RCMP responded to a situation involving an adult man who had barricaded himself inside a residence on the 3000 block of Jacklin Road in Langford.
The call came in at approximately 2:50 a.m., prompting a response from both West Shore RCMP officers and the Vancouver Island RCMP Emergency Response Team.
The suspect, armed with an edged weapon, had confined himself inside the home.
To ensure public safety, police established a secure perimeter around the residence. Crisis negotiators were also called in to help defuse the situation.
After several hours of negotiation, the male suspect safely exited the building and was taken into custody without further incident.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
RCMP thanked the public for their patience and cooperation while the situation was resolved safely.
As the investigation is still ongoing, police said further details cannot be released at this time.
