The 2025 Juno Awards are nearly upon us, and to celebrate local music scenes in collaboration with the event, there will be some free concerts taking place this March.
In BC, there will be six free shows held in different music hubs throughout the province: Victoria, Nanaimo, Prince George, Surrey, Kelowna and Terrace.
The shows are meant to highlight a diverse range of musical styles to show the dynamic diversity of talent within BC.
The Victoria showcase will be held at Lucky Bar on Tuesday, March 25th, with Vox Rea and Luca Fogale playing.
Vox Rea is a moody indie-pop band with ties to both Vancouver and Victoria and have played at big festivals such as Phillips Backyard and Rifflandia.
Luca Fogale is pop singer-songwriter who hails from Burnaby and has been nominated for Juno Awards before for the Adult Contemporary Album of the Year award in both 2022 and 2024.
The Nanaimo showcase is being held at The Queen’s on Thursday, March 27th, with Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Sirreal and DJ All Good performing.
Snotty Nose Rez Kids is a hip-hop duo from the Haisla First Nation near Kitimat.
They have been widely celebrated across Canada and abroad for their politically driven lyrics and iconic singles that have garnered them numerous Juno Awards nominations with all four full length albums they’ve released being shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize.

Other artists playing at the showcases being held on the mainland are: the Coastal Drifters, Desiree Dawson, Élodie Orsei and Garret T Willie.
The exception of this list is Surrey, where there will be over 30 artists playing on six stages at the City Hall Plaza on Saturday, March 15th.
