Similar to the Canada versus USA game, a divisional rivalry is heating up in the WHL this weekend, and you won’t want to miss it.
The Victoria Royals, who sit atop the BC Division, will face off against the second-place Prince George Cougars, with just four points separating the two teams.
The action unfolds in back-to-back games this Friday and Saturday at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.
The Victoria Royals officially clinched a berth in the 2025 WHL Playoffs on Monday afternoon. With a record of 32-15-3-6 this season, the Royals have secured their spot in the WHL Playoffs and will begin their pursuit of the Ed Chynoweth Cup this spring.
Leading the BC Division with 73 points and sitting second in the Western Conference, the Royals are in prime position for a deep playoff run. The 2025 WHL Playoffs are expected to commence the weekend of March 28th to 30th, giving the team just over a month to fine-tune their game before the intensity ramps up.
With the playoffs locked in, the Royals now set their sights on claiming the BC Division title and ensuring home-ice advantage. This weekend’s games against Prince George will be pivotal in that pursuit.
A pair of wins in regulation this weekend could extend Victoria’s lead to nine points over the Cougars, further solidifying their hold on the division and bolstering their chances of home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs.
The Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre is sure to be rocking, and Royals supporters will play a key role in fueling the team’s push for victory.
