Nanaimo RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for 39-year-old Michael Mclellan for failing to appear in Nanaimo Provincial Court.
He was to attend court on the charge of robberyfor an incident that occurred in late November of last year.
Mclellan is alleged to have assaulted a woman by punching her in the face several times, and stealing her purse.
Police say he was located later that same day and arrested for the robbery before being released on conditions.
Mclellan is reportedly of no fixed address but is believed to be in the Nanaimo area.
Police describe Mclellan as a Caucasian man, standing 5’11” tall, weighing 180 pounds, with brown hair, beard and brown eyes.
