A fatal single-vehicle rollover crash on Alberni Highway in Coombs on Thursday evening has claimed the life of a 36-year-old man.
The incident occurred on January 30th at approximately 8 p.m. in the 2300 block of Alberni Highway.
First responders arrived at the scene where the driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found critically injured. The man was transported to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
The Oceanside RCMP Detachment, assisted by the RCMP’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (CARS) and the BC Coroners Service, are investigating the crash.
At this time, police say no definitive cause or contributing factors have been identified. The identity of the deceased driver has not been released.
Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam or surveillance footage showing a green Dodge Ram pickup travelling west on Alberni Highway around the time of the crash, to come forward.
