One person suffered life-altering injuries after being purposely pinned to a tree with a vehicle in Victoria earlier this month.
Police say 34-year-old Cristian Ganzo-Murphy, has been charged with multiple offenses following an incident on December 1st in which he allegedly used his vehicle to intentionally strike and pin another man against a tree.
“VicPD officers responded to a call shortly before 2 a.m. that day regarding a man screaming for help in the 600-block of Hillside Avenue.”
Upon arrival, officers provided emergency medical aid to the victim, who sustained serious and life-altering injuries to his leg.
BC Emergency Health Services paramedics arrived shortly after and transported the victim to hospital.
The suspect’s vehicle was found abandoned, resting against a tree after the suspect fled the scene. However, Ganzo-Murphy later called VicPD to turn himself in.
Police located him and took him into custody without further incident.
Ganzo-Murphy now faces one count of aggravated assault, one count of assault with a weapon, and one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
He remains in custody pending a future bail hearing.
The investigation is ongoing, and no other details are being made available as the case progresses through the courts.
