If you’re an entrepreneur and planning a move to Langford, a recent recognition might make your decision a little easier.

Langford has capped off an impressive year by earning a spot in the top three of The Globe and Mail’s list of the 20 Most Livable Canadian Cities for Entrepreneurs

Ranked third overall, the city’s placement reflects factors such as strong economic factors, low commute times, and tax environment—ideal for entrepreneurs looking to plant roots in a thriving community.

This year, The Globe and Mail added a new twist to its ranking criteria: projected population changes from 2024 to 2029.

This additional factor takes into account the future dynamics of a city, giving entrepreneurs valuable insight into the long-term viability of their business ventures.

The purpose is to give viewers a better idea of where they may want to live depending on life stage, longterm wants and priorities!

Relocating to a new city involves careful consideration and can often be stressful, but with criteria like the economy, housing, healthcare, and community in mind, this list offers a helpful starting point.

In total, The Globe and Mail assessed 448 cities across Canada, each with a population of over 10,000, evaluating 50 variables across ten key categories—everything from safety and education to transportation and climate.

In a media release from the City of Langford, they mentioned that these results are a testament to its continued growth and appeal.

They mentioned additional awards too, including the Community Project Award from the British Columbia Economic Development Association (BCEDA) for its innovative Langford Station project.

On top of that, Langford received the Climate & Energy Action Award for its commitment to sustainability with the launch of the Capital Region Extreme Heat Information Portal.

Whether you’re looking to start a business or simply relocate to a city that’s primed for growth, Langford stands out as a top contender.
