Good news, drivers!
This holiday season, the City of Victoria is making it easier to find parking downtown, just in time for all your festive shopping, dining, and entertainment plans.
Firstly, new digital parkade signs are now in place, helping drivers locate available spots quickly and easily—it lets you know how many spots are open.
Plus, a special holiday offer for app users gives them a one-time discount of up to $6 on parking.
“This holiday season, we’re making it even easier to support downtown businesses,” said Quinn Anglin, Manager of Economic Development.
“Whether you’re heading downtown to shop, celebrate or take in a show, the parking improvements take the guesswork out of finding a spot plus the parking credit adds a little festive cheer.”
How it works:
Before heading to the downtown core, check out victoria.ca/parking to view real-time parking availability at City parkades.
The new digital signs at parkade entrances will give you live updates on available spaces, which includes one-hour-free, accessible, and general parking options.
For those with the ParkVictoria app, between December 6th and 15th, app users can get a one-time parking credit of up to $6 by entering the promo code “JOY”.
Just enter the parking space number, time, and payment method in the app, and apply the code under “Session Options” to claim the discount.
But that’s not all—the City of Victoria offers several other ways to park for free:
- All City of Victoria parkades are free on Sundays, holidays, and after 8 p.m. daily
- There are a total of 144 one-hour-free spots available across the five parkades
- The Downtown Bike Valet service offers free, secure bike parking year-round
