Medicine Wheel Publishing is excited to announce the release of I Am Connected, a heartwarming children’s book that explores the beauty of connection in all its forms.
Written by renowned Haida storyteller Ḵung Jaadee (Roberta Kennedy) and illustrated by Métis/Cree artist Carla Joseph, this book invites young readers on a journey through the many bonds that unites us to the world and each other.
Set against the breathtaking landscapes of Haida Gwaii, I Am Connected highlights the many ways we interact with our environment.

Whether through the love of family and friends, the embrace of nature, or the wisdom of our ancestors, this book serves as an important reminder to cherish our relationships with everything.
Jaadee is a respected traditional Haida storyteller, singer and drummer, as well as a teacher of Xaad Kil/Haida language and culture. I Am Connected shares valuable insights from the Indigenous traditions she holds close, and Joseph’s illustrations bring these stories vibrantly to life.
Originally from Haida Gwaii and now residing in North Vancouver on X̱wemelch’stn territory, Jaadee belongs to the X̱aayda (Haida), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) First Nations.
