This time of year can be stressful for many, but it’s not often you hear of someone taking nearly $2,000 worth of groceries without paying.
Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are on the lookout for a suspect who was seen loading a significant haul of unpaid merchandise into a grey Lexus last week.
Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers joined the investigation with a festive twist, posting a cheeky “Dear Suspect” letter to their social media followers.
The social media post read:
Dear Suspect,
Well, it appears you were doing all your holiday grocery shopping on the day that this picture of you was taken. Boy oh boy, that’s a heck of a lot of stuff overflowing from your shopping cart.
Maybe you should invite Sidney/North Saanich RCMP over for Christmas dinner since they would love to chat with you about the approximately $2000.00 in store product you took without paying for.
Store staff followed you out and saw you load all your newly acquired food into a grey Lexus car before you made your grinchy getaway.
So, our Christmas present to you is to share your photo with our amazing followers and make you famous this holiday season.
