Condé Nast Traveller has released their 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards for the best islands in the world, and Vancouver Island made the list!

And if you’ve ever had the pleasure of exploring the island and are well accustomed to its beauty, this may not come as a surprise.

The Readers’ Choice Awards for top islands are separated into categories based on the continent, of which North America has 10 locations listed.

Of these islands, Vancouver Island scored fifth place with a score of 91.43!

Hilton Head Island in South Carolina holds first place, with a score 98.10, with Maui, Hawaii close behind with a score of 95.71.

In tenth place on the North American list is Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, ranked at 86.87.

Some of the other islands mentioned include Madeira in Portugal, Hvar in Croatia, and unsurprisingly several of the Greek islands were named, including Paros, Rhodes and Crete top for scenery.

In addition to this recent recognition for the island, Condé Nast Traveller’s 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards also named Victoria the #1 Small City in the World for the second year in a row.

Plus, the travel insurance company AllClear released a list of the coziest cities worldwide and Victoria scored 8th, making it the top in Canada.
