The election’s final voting day is just four days away now and advanced voting is well underway.

As the final day to cast a ballot in BC’s 43rd general election draws ever-nearer, the BC NDP have seen a slight spike in the polls as the Conservative Party of BC has begun to trail slightly.

A recent survey by Research Co. shows that 45% of decided voters in British Columbia say they will be casting their ballots for the BC NDPs while 41% would vote for the Conservatives.

Additionally, 11% said they would vote for the BC Green Party and 3% said they would vote for a different, independent party.

Support for the BC NDP’s leader, Premier David Eby, has also grown slightly in contrast to the Conservatives’ support, which has dwindled.

According to Research Co., 53% of respondents approve of Eby, whereas the BC Greens’ leader, Sonia Furstenau has a 43% approval rating and Conservatives leader, John Rustad, has the lowest approval rating with 42% of British Columbian respondents favouring him.

Another recent poll is reinforcing Research Co.’s numbers—338Canada has found that although the popular vote is neck-and-neck with the BC NDP projected to win 45% of the vote and the Conservatives projected at taking 44%, the BC NDP are expected to win more seats than their opponents.

According to 338Canada’s odds of winning the most seats, the BC NDPs hold a 73% likelihood of winning the most seats, versus the Conservative’s 25%.

Additionally, 338Canada says there is a 68% chance of a BC NDP majority government against the Conservative’s 21%.

The last day to vote at advance polls is Wednesday, October 16th, then British Columbians must go to one of their riding’s voting stations in order to cast their ballots on Saturday, October 19th.
