Those who buy a lotto ticket in hopes of an early retirement could win more than they bargained for this week, but the odds are slim.

According to the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), this Friday’s Lotto Max jackpot is the highest in Canadian history at a whopping $75 million.

In addition to the jackpot, there is a bonus $12 million up for grabs for those that like to buy the extra $1 ‘Maxmillions’ play.

This is the first time the Lotto Max jackpot has gotten this high and it could get even higher with a lottery cap of $80 million.

If it is not won this week, the jackpot will roll up to the max of $80 million for Tuesday, September 17th’s draw.

BCLC says that lotto players over 19-years-old will have until 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 13th to purchase their tickets.

They added that the odds of winning this record breaking jackpot are 1 in 33,294,800.
